Aerial Silks GUIDELINES

Attire: Wear close-fitting workout clothing that covers the underarms, waist, and the back of the knees. Avoid clothing with sharp objects such as zippers, grommets, or embellishments that could damage equipment.

Jewelry & Valuables: Leave valuables, including jewelry and watches, at home. All jewelry and watches must be removed before class.

Hair: Long hair must be secured to prevent entanglement with the apparatus and reduce the risk of injury.

Safety & Hygiene: Proper attire, jewelry removal, and secured hair are essential to prevent injuries to yourself, fellow students, and coaches, as well as to protect the apparatus. Additionally, as the gym is a shared space, maintaining good personal hygiene is important.

Spatial Awareness: Always be aware of your surroundings. Do not walk under an apparatus while it is in use—those in the air have the right of way.

Respect: Treat the environment, fellow students, coaches, staff, equipment, and the gym with respect at all times.

Risk Acknowledgment: Aerial arts involve inherent risks. While we take precautions to create a safe training environment, participants must avoid unnecessary risks during practice, training, and performances.

Training Safety: If you are unsure about a skill, do not attempt it. Never train alone or without a crash mat.

Listening & Compliance: Following directions is crucial for the safety of both students and instructors.

By participating in aerial arts, you acknowledge the inherent risks and agree to adhere to these guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful training environment.
